A few of us are looking into running a meet up on the weekend of 28 February 2015.

The meet up would be in the centre of York. As part of this meet up, we plan to run a beta test of a possible future Lord Fear's Midnight Hunt.

We have found hotels at about £21 - £32 per person per night.

We currently have about four attendees, but would be looking to get a few more in order to make the trip viable.

    Any interest?

Just to add to what Alan's said above. Basically this is a mixture of general social stuff as well as an opportunity to participate in the creation and playing of an early version of what will become the next Midnight Hunt for a future KM Convention.

What's a midnight hunt? It's a game played outside in the streets of our chosen location (York) a sort of action adventure game.

It's an opportunity to try new ideas and see what does and doesn't work for the format. You'll be given chance to either assist, play a role or play the game. We'll be looking for input from everyone involved to get your thoughts. I can't really elaborate too much on some of the initial ideas as that would potentially spoil the final result.

The game will take place in the streets of York - a beautiful historic city - at night although not as late as Midnight. It's success relies on people taking an interest and participating though. We can't pay you (we're not a business) and we're not charging people either although you do need to cover hotel, travel etc.

But as I've said it's not just about creating and playing a game, it's a great opportunity to just socialise with people within the KM community. Eat, drink, visit nice places, play games and generally be merry.

Count me and Max in! York is perfect, an hours train away

The Shambles would be a great place for the hunt trial, all those little streets and old buildings, and it'd be lovely to see you guys again. The eating, drinking and being merry is a given

Hmm .... four hours by train for me, but looks like a fairly direct route (into London then out again). Would probably need to book the Friday off, so I will check a few details out at work next week and let you know. Definitely interested!

Sure, York isn't too far away from Liverpool Just create a Facebook event so it's harder to forget the date

I'm up for that - if I come in by coach it wouldn't be too expensive a trip from London.

Oh hi! It's only taken me forever to get back on here!

York sounds great! I'm very interested in helping out with the midnight hunt. Creating a Facebook event sounds like a sensible idea.

York gets the seal of approval here. In reference to facebook make sure any pertinent info is shared here and there as some use one and not the other such as myself.

The York Dungeon will make an ideal excursion for any KM trip too, as will Clifford's Tower.

Brill, the sooner we can all book hotels/transport the cheaper it'll be too

Sounds fun, and York is easy to get to by train. I can hopefully be there.

                                          Hi all,

Okay, we can now confirm that the York Meetup is going ahead!

It's therefore time to start booking while prices are still cheap.

                                          You have two options:

                                          1. Send me money (via paypal) and I will book for you.

Currently, the price is £34 for Saturday night and £14 for Sunday night (based on three people sharing a room with a double bed and a sofa bed on a flexible rate). We encourage people to travel up on Saturday morning and travel back on Monday during the day (this permutation is cheaper than staying Friday night and Saturday night).

                                          1. Book yourself.

We are going to be staying in the Travelodge York Central Micklegate Hotel (http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/422/York-Central-Micklegate-hotel).

By booking yourself, you can choose alternative arrangements to those we propose, above. However, if you choose to book yourself you MUST post up details of your booking (where and when) so that we can plan the event.

Forester and I have already booked in.
