TAPE PIRACY

Conversely, if the DVDs were released it might help generate interest for the Knew Knightmare. I'm sure the DVDs would try and include an exhaustive set of internet links, including to Televirtual's latest projects. If Tim was interviewed, one of the things he might just mention is that Knightmare is not necessarily a creature purely of the past. (Okay, it'd have to be worked so the information didn't become out of date too early, but there'd be some way of managing that.)
I've had so many other ideas. For some reason this whole issue got stuck in my head the other night and I failed to get to sleep until 5.30am. Ra and double-ra!
-
I personally think the DVD release should come first - then people caan watch Knightmare "in order" rather than seeing new series then going back to old series.
-
I'd get the deffinatly! Even if I didn't have a DVD player, I'd buy one to have it - and remember this would generate interest if they wanted to make a new KM series.
-
Well, they ARE making a new series.

It's just a question of whether it will be commissioned. (I am positive it will - with Km's reputation and continuing demand even the most middle-of-the-road, play-it-safe, money-grabbing, cappuccino-land monkey-suit of an exec will want it!)
-
Well, they ARE making a new series.

Really? or are you just being optimistic - its hard to tell...
-
It's all in the Knightmare VR section. TeleVirtual is developing a new series. Granted, it's still in early pre-production but the very fact that it's happening makes me very optimistic! All that is needed is a commission and, as I said before, with Km's reputation, continuing demand and fanbase, I would rank the chances of it making it to our screens as extremely high.

Knightmare on DVD? Yipee! I'm getting a DVD player for the TV soon anyway, so I'll definately be buying that when (and if crosses fingers) it comes out. I hope the new series of Knightmare gets the go-ahead, hopefully with Hugo Myatt and Mark Knight back in their legendary roles.

Essential; just wouldn't be knightmare without them!

I've read the comments about tape piracy and I agree that people selling these tapes on eBay for massive profits should be reported. However, I think it's a shame that some people have stopped copying tapes for others just for the cost of the video and postage. I know that I have had "illegal" copies of other series like this in the past but it has never stopped me from buying the official release on VHS or DVD when it comes out. The quality is obviously going to be better and, in the case of DVDs, there will be extra features too.
Having just discovered this site recently I was hoping to be able to get a copy of some of the series, but unfortunately it looks like that is no longer going to be possible. It's a real shame, especially now that Challenge have stopped showing it.
Oh well, hopefully there will be a proper release some day!
-
Well, there are so many possibilities that the chances are SOMEONE will allow us to watch KM again.
-
I know im bumping this one up after a long time, but i was absent from forum for while and now im back!! anyway, i think its almost given that KM has a huge following and would do well on DVD - ratings are good on Challenge. KM is not a gameshow - it is an adventure - a spectacle - in tape trading ceasing, the demand for DVD will be greater - for those who were going to buy them - ppl like me ;D - it is like taking the door away from us - so close, but gone! BVA assure Granada that we will buy releases, and if Illusion, Debz, Mark Knight, Hugo and GG (where are you?!? Get back!!!) could have a commentary on it i would happily pay £18 for a DVD!!
-
i know almost everyone here feels the same.
basicly, those without knightmare episodes can get them easily and legally with a profit to the makers...etc
if the makers are worried about piracy having shrunk the market look at it this way...if they were big enough fans to go to the trouble of getting all these tapes copied. they are def. big enough fans to see the advantages in DVD quality + extras if there are any.

Someone else is trying to sell Knightmare tapes on Ebay, I've emailed them to suggest that they remove the item, but I don't know how much good it will do.
The description is interesting:
"This rare chance to see one of the best kids TV programmes shown on ITV in the early 1990's- this home recorded video contains the whole of Series 3 which is over 6 hours of tape. Sound is not brilliant but audible and there are advert breaks in between episodes."
Hang on, maybe I have been asleep for the past two years, but hasn't it been on Challenge with about three repeats...oh and I am certain that it's due on again soon! A rare chance indeed!
