Realistically, I’ll probably only be able to do two days. Even that will involve bribing my wife with a lot of gold bars and rubies!

      Okay, not a problem.

Possibly a middle ground here would be to do something like 2.5 days with the half day being used to socialise, catch up, and to set up (if possible). People can then come (or not) on the half day as they like. That way, we can get started at the crack of dawn on the first full day.

Soooo...let's think about dates assuming we'll have a Saturday and a Sunday.

We want to do some read throughs of the scripts in advance of filming. Additionally, venues tend to be booked up a bit in advance. I think we want to be looking at 4-6 months from now. That also gives us a couple of weeks to agree on a date. That does, unfortunately, leave us at the height of summer. Previous experiences suggests that we'll be baked, but at least we'll have the light.

So which weekends are people able to make in August, September, or October?

        Hi Alan

Sorry for the late reply, I'll take a look at the scripts but not worried about which ones I'm involved in, I'll play any part really.

Currently looking for work so not got any pressure on times or days. September sounds ideal, it should be a bit cooler than last time, other than that I dont mind whether it's 2 or 3 days.

I'm afraid October 8th-9th are out for me, and possibly the couple of weeks before (helping out at an event) but other than that I'm flexible.

Septembers going to be probably easiest to book here with those with families taking less hols than August plus we won't be quite so baked alive again!

I could do the last weekend in September, but not the 17th. October also looks fine at the moment.

There's not much in my diary that would get in the way. September would be good! I'd probably recommend early autumn over August on account of the heat making it more difficult to sleep and concentrate for full days.

So it's looking like mid-September ish. We just need input from Billy and Ballard?

Hmmm, so after talking to Forester, the only date in September that might work is

                      23rd (social/setup day) to 25th September

But this could be a problem for Librase and we're still waiting to hear from Billy and Chris.

I've asked the other people, and we'll see! They'll probably be okay with me missing out one weekend.

I’ll need the evenings free for that weekend (particularly the Fri and Sat) as it’s my birthday on the 24th which I do like to celebrate! Otherwise I can make that work this far in advance.

                            Thanks, both.

Billy, I think we can work around your absence in the evenings (depending on when you class as 'evening'). It's just a question of scheduling things carefully. Almost any venue we pick will charge by the hour, so it's better for us to not be going on late.

So we just need input from Chris and we need to wait to hear back from Librase once she's spoken to her people.

My people have spoken, and they're okay with me missing that weekend's meeting.

One more question: do we have a location or is that the next thing on the list?

                                  Great!

No specific location, but it's extremely likely to be London given the availability of cheap (ish) spaces there.

                                      Okay, looks good.

Let me have a look around and see what we can find in terms of a venue. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

We'll keep in mind the possibility of using the Friday afternoon as a setup/test/social day.

                                        Okay....

This has taken a while. Although London has MANY venues, most of them:

                                        • Do not reply to emails

                                        • Won't participate in what we're doing

                                        • Charge x5 their normal fees if you're filming

                                        • Don't have availability across an extended period

Nevertheless, two venues that we've used before tick all the boxes, and this is the one that we're strongly considering:

                                        https://www.pleasance.co.uk/content/studio

It's not yet clear what the situation is regarding parking, but there is a car park nearby. I'm also not sure what the cancellation policy would be, but I expect it to be "tough shit". The intention would be:

Friday September 23 : 2pm - 6pm for setup and tests (and maybe some simple filming if we manage it)

                                        Saturday September 24: 10am - 6pm

                                        Sunday September 25: 10am - 6pm

So we're now at the COMMITMENT phase. I need agreement from everyone. If you agree to this booking then the money that you've contributed will be put towards this venue on these dates. It will only be refunded in correspondence with any refund that we get from the venue. If you now agree and subsequently drop out, or if you get hit by a bus, if you get covid and cannot make it, whatever, there will be no refund unless the venue somehow gives us a refund.

If anyone disagrees then we need to make a group decision of whether to proceed without that person (in which case they'll get refunded) or we'll need to keep looking.
