I genuinely believe it was quite a favour for Challenge to do it this way. Apart from actually trying to gauge opinions, Series 3, in my opinion, is the one which really - magnets viewers, especially new watchers. It is far longer than S1, which was quite handy, meant more showings to watch, and because it is generally conceived to be the most popular - which was then supported by impressive viewing figures on the repeats, it could be that choice of series which has led to anything else being shown at all. Mr Child has already said, as I recall, that due to costs incurred, it must really have taken some overwhelming statistics for Challenge to consider S4. Therefore, it could have been the rather illogical starting point that give allowance to any more series showing at all. Let's just hope the trend continues.

Yes I did, but I posted because all the eps of Knightmare I've seen so far have this odd 'drifting' sound problem. The ads are okay, as was the programme before/after. I'm not 100% sure what you're all going on about, but your signature makes a lot of sense! I wish 'e would shurrup, dearie!

I'm of the opposite view. Pickle really annoyed the hell out of me and my friend and we made up quite nasty nicknames for him and Treguard (I won't be repeating them, I'm a lot older and wiser now) but I myself had no problem with Majida, I quite liked her actually and thought she was a lot better than Pickle was. I concur, though I didn't really hate Pickle, I just preferred Majida. One of my friends absolutely despised him though. I always thought Majida had more character, and more of a backbone. And I agree that Majida was a lot more agressive, I always wanted to see her smacking particularly dense advisers with the staff...

There's a short video online called 'If Knightmare's wall monsters had tension music' which uses the clue room scene from this episode. This episode had a rare example of an actor playing a dungeoneer: in this case, Bryan McNerney (presumed to be the actor who played the Behemoth) playing Kelly as the Behemoth after the casting of TRANSFORM. In Series 5 we had an unknown performer playing Christopher as a goblin; in Series 8 we had Mark Knight playing Daniel as Lord Fear after Daniel drank the Fearsome potion. This episode also had an example of an actor playing two different characters in consecutive scenes. Bryan McNerney (unconfirmed) played Kelly as Behemoth, then played Grimwold the ogre. Sound-wise, there's a lot going on when Kelly meets her end. The floating skull; music; Grimwold roaring; heartbeat; bell. I like how Treguard heralds the calm after the storm with a drawn-out "Ooh nasty" fading to a whisper. I remember watching this post-mortem speech of Treguard's for the first time and trying to take it all in. The reference to Kelly being gone but somehow present elsewhere; the detailed description of what Kelly should have done to survive, presenting a clear scenario of what might have been; the phrase "alive and kicking", which I'd never heard before, evoking an image of Kelly suspended in some kind of limbo, kicking to show she was still alive and ready to be reunited with her advisors. Treguard's delivery of "D-I-S-M-I-S-S" is unusual, with "D-I-S" so close together without the usual pauses in between. It reminds me of seeing a production of Hamlet where Hamlet delivered the most famous line with unexpected emphasis: "To be or not to be."

Tim Child himself aka beveryafraid has explained the situation (in the Filthy Challenge thread). Knightmare is very expensive, what with Equity fees and so on. It was a huge stroke of good fortune that Challenge decided to shell out for just one series, let alone all of them.

Nice thought people I never noticed some of the previous series comments that you mentioned.  When I was in school there were 4 of us in my class who always wanted to be in KM but we never applied because basicly we didnt know how.  I was supposed to be the dungeoneer in fact, probably because I was the least bright lol.  I suppose Im just surprised that there wernt enuf teams of 4 that knew about KM to fill a series.
