Perhaps the dragons are gone because a new series would bring us something else large and interesting. Or maybe it was a hint that we wouldn;t see dragons because of the budget

Hey! The old gang is almost back together!

I loved it. I thought it was fun, I thought it was fresh without turning its back on what we know as Knightmare, and I think it's been a long time coming!

So there were cuts and shakes and things we might not have chosen for a new ep. We forget that we're the diehard fans that know the original series inside out, and in reality it was not made for us alone. The whole thing was a brilliant nod to something that still entertains two decades on, and the crew behind it had a lot more to consider than they would if they were making it for the fandom with a large budget to blow.

Tim did a stellar job and you know what? He got us talking. He may even be taking notes right now, just in case...

I will be holding my breath for an online Series 9. Dreaming? Maybe. But this is the best thing that has happened in the fandom for a long time and I'm not going to waste my breath being closely critical.

There's a difference between inviting 'people who might be interested' and inviting your whole friends list. You can also put a note in the invitation that this is to try and get an accurate figure of sales. Whatever works. I was assuming that if people were invited, the word would be out there but those invited could always say no.

Which is why you all need to invite others. We won't get much further unless people do their bit, I expect.

Definately. I guess that if everyone who joins the group invites everyone they know (I've left it open so you should all be able to 'invite people to join') then that will speed the thing on a little further.

Hi guys, I know I post about this every year... so yeah. Here I am again (with admin permission, naturally!)

LARP Aid, for those of you that don't know, is a charity roleplay event held in Aberystwyth every year, each time for a new charity. It costs a maximum of £15 to attend, and around £2 of this covers your food, accommodation, insurance and participation - the rest goes to the charity.

Ther plot is that warriors from different worlds are plucked away to take part in a huge tournament to win the title of Warrior of the Worlds. If you aren't into the combat side of things, there is also ongoing plot and events for spectators. As this covers most genres, if you wanted to play a Knightmare character or original character, you would be most welcome! Last year we had several newcomers that had never tried Live Action Roleplay before, so do not feel you need to know everything about the hobby to come along.

There are also activities such as an auction, quizzes, cardgames and wargames to keep you all busy.

The event dates are 1-2 March, at Brynamlwg, Penglais, Aberystwyth. All welcome, and even though the main event is a LARP tournament there will be other stuff going on too. More details to follow.

We're currently voting for the charity to fundraise for with this year's LARP Aid. Last year we raised over £1000, and the event was great fun. As usual, we're hoping to make it bigger and better again.

I found out recently that most of my working compsci friends all work for the same company. That company (situated a mile or two away - unsure as to whether this is one of many branches or a single location) is Broadsword. Or the company formally known as Broadsword - they refer to it as either 'Broadsword' or 'The Ones That Made Knightmare'... whichever
