I only wish someone had stacked it off the turntable for choosing your quest during series 4.

After spotting the Uppers & Downers thing I'd like to know if there were inside gags for the production team and possibly for any adults who might be watching.

It would add extra spice to the corridor of blades at least.  

I think the crystal maze analogy is very true. It could be very bad without Hugo, ETP all over again. However, this does smack a little bit of old fans just getting a little misty eyed over the old program. If Tim Child's in charge I'm sure he'll know what's best.

Series 4 was far too precisely scripted, I prefered the more random Season 5 for the Treguard/Pickle banter.

It isn't a good thing when you can guess what Pickle is going to say next...There must be a reason for it.

Maybe I should get an interview w/ TC, then we can get some of these questions answered.

Well I couldn't say if the banter in series 5 was better but I must say I have enjoyed the stuff in series 4, much more than I did when it was originally on (older and wiser now obviously).

An interview with TC (I assume you don't mean topcat, that would also be marvellous also, although not very relevant to knightmare) would indeed be a good idea.

It would be shame if it didn't come out on vhs but I think it's probably best focusing efforts on the most viable release option.

On a side note I've noticed that the petition has been noticed by those fine people on the NOTBBC forums so that should hopefully get a few more names on there.

I can't believe it takes 4 writers to write craig's script as well. It wouldn't even be good if he was making it up on the spot.

Was it me or did the life force only appear to be very low when there was food close by that the dungeoneer could pick up? It seemed to me sometimes they could go for rooms without any problem and then suddenly, when there's food around Treguard would issue a 'lifeforce warning team!'

Indeed time was rather 'elastic' in relation to the life force. It's always changing at a very fast pace when it's on the screen. Though, once again that's half the charm of the program isn't it? I would miss having the kids panic that they're not going to get the food in the bag quick enough.

It should definitely go on front page of the clara.net website as well. May as well make it as obvious as possible.

Ah yes, they'll have to go through some initiation where they swear allegiance to the original series.

In fact it will be very weird if people come on and start saying how the new version is great but the old is rubbish. Will have to bite my lip very hard in that situation.

It is nice to think that kids aren't being put off by the, shall we say, slightly dated computer graphics and are just enjoying for what it is, a good program.

I'm sure when I watched it originally on ITV I never saw anyone win, so that was most enjoyable to see. I somehow feel more complete than I did yesterday  

However, a question for people with better memories of the program. How many times did they use the uppers and downers in the program (first seen for me on Dickon's quest)? Did someone realise the drugs connotation with those names? Was someone having a bit of fun there?

seeing as I haven't seen most of this since it was first on it's all pretty new again to me, so out of the repeats I particularily enjoy the little asides the dungeoneers let out. I swear one of them said a sarcastic "What a surprise" when they were being told what the room looked like. There was some great bickering as well last series.

Oh dear, reading through this thread I feel horribly out of place. Well, balls to that, 27 and proud of it.

I watched Knightmare from when it first started although I missed the later series' (I hang my head in shame) so I'm hoping Challenge will get those too.
