For the most part I thought it was really good. As others have said I thought the opening was a bit drawn out but once they started playing the game I really enjoyed it. Great to see they brought back the David Rowe rooms, and also modernised the original life force. I thought the advisors were alright, a bit silly but not overbearingly so. And, of course, Hugo and Mark were as brilliant as ever. The only complaint I have is that there was some erratic cutting at the end, which gives me the impression they were trying to fit a time constraint. Still, for the most part I rather liked what was produced as we got to see a good-old game of Knightmare, and hopefully the exposure this video will get the show will lead to greater things.

As Elita did you find it hard to act mean towards the Dungeoneers, or did you find it fun and easy to vent at them?

Ben and his sister both acted as runners in (at least) series 8. I would have placed them in at least their late teens at the time. So I'd guess Ben was the right age.

Reasons I think not:

• I suspect that simply assigning the role to your son would break all kinds of acting union rules.

• The opening sequence obviously involves some tricky element of choreography - potentially without sight if the helmet is real rather than a CGI affectation. It's quite possible that this would involve an element of experience and expertise and that an actor would be needed.

• Opening sequences and theme music usually aren't done in-house. I'm not sure Tim would be in a position to contract out such a job and insist that his son was used.

Counter-arguments:

• The role is uncredited, so using your son might not break acting union rules.

• Given the nature of the opening sequence, this sequence really might have been done in-house.

To add to the 'not done in-house' argument, the CG used in the opening sequence seems to be a bit more advanced than what was used in Knightmare's gameplay, which could mean outside production. Could be wrong, though. shrugs

A good read, though given some of the things Tim Child said it makes me wonder if they weren't listening to him or he's got a bit bored of being asked the same questions and decided to mix it up a bit.

The demand is definitely there given the poll result amongst other things, and I'm pretty sure Challenge will have picked up on that. I doubt they've given up on it, I just hope a breakthrough comes before their interest wanes.

Tim was probably more forgiving of teams that made for better TV, but they still weren't allowed to get away with massive blatant errors.

Matt from Series 6 springs instantly to mind for me. Though some would disagree I found him incredibly entertaining and I think in the beginning Tim may have been a bit lenient - I feel he spent far too long on the Level 1 causeway, particularly towards the end (may explain why the timer came in). However, I think he was punished for that on the Level 2 causeway, as watching the video I'm sure others got away with being closer to the edge than he was.

They have confirmed that the other show is Knightmare.

Challenge said yesterday on Facebook: "We are still to be decided on when [Fun House] will start as hoping to pair it up with another classic kids game show"! What do you suppose they could be referring to?!

The fact that they're delaying the launch of an already-acquired show for this gives me great hope indeed that they expect to acquire the other one...

Another positive sign is Challenge announced they've bought the rights to Bullseye, so this and Fun House show they're clearly acquiring shows for the coming year. If Knightmare should return to Challenge I reckon it'll be announced sooner rather than later.

Challenge have just announced on their Facebook page they've secured the rights to show two series of Fun House. Given how Knightmare is never far away from that show could we be on the verge of good news?

2nd is still a pretty good result, and I'm convinced that Knightmare would have won were it not for the King of Mullets' intervention.

It is slow progress, but as others have pointed out there's been a surge of interest in Knightmare today. While it may not last it might last long enough for Challenge to push that little bit harder to get the rights. Regardless of what stage things are at it's definitely heading in the right direction.

Oh yes, Sky+ exists now, doesn't it? Better go and get it set for next weekend. Can't wait.
