Bad Dreem: a Knightmare spoof filmYou bastard! Now I'm going to have to check through the site to find outr what exctly you mean! :-P!
Great little video, pissed myself laughing (metaphorically, if that's the right word )

hiya!Hellz need to make this place busier!
-
Other than Treaguard and Lord FearErrrm, what about all those times he flew dungeoneers between levels?
-
Other than Treaguard and Lord FearI suppose it would be nice to have the continuity for his voice...although anyone with a cool and Mighty voice would do. His voice was distorted in the first place, so it wouldn't be hard to replicate it.
Hmmm...what a pity Orson Welles is dead. Now that's a Smirkinorff voice

HellzCheers for the props lads. I've caught various episodes on Challenge...at my grandparent's house. Which is about 300 miles away (I'm guessing). So not very practical! I would bully my friends into taping but we're all very busy bees

Guess I should dig through the old VHS horde...the idea scares me witless though. Ah well, where there's a will there's a way I guess
Get the DVD petition up and running YES! Cheers for the welcome lads

Other than Treaguard and Lord FearHow about it? You know it'd have to be! One of the coolest Knightmare characters ever, he'd have to look at least 100 times cooler and mightier than before

Knightmare on DVD - any news?plus maybe a Tim Child commentary or something
Heheh, that just made me think...running commentary of the series, just like on the Red Dwarf DVDs! Oh god, I'm sure we could imagine some classic moments...
I thought I caught a rumour somewhere on the website that all 8 series' were going to be released together on one DVD? Either way, a series-by-series run like Red Dwarf would be class.
-
Knightmare VR ruined the classicI for one will happily admit that I'd love to have Knightmare return in its classic form (epecially circa Series 5 for me!). But you have to wonder, if this was the case, wouldn't it be returning as a parody of itself? Knightmare deserves better. Also, consider that since we've seen the classic format done for a long time and at such a good standard, would a return to this hold our attention for long?
If Knightmare had continued after series 8 and progressively phased in this VR technology, I'm sure the fanbase would have accepted it with open arms. Unfortunately, the 10-year gap and sudden jump in style is going to be disorientating for many. I didn't like the pilot too much but I see the potential in it and hope a new series comes out of it

Thoughts on VRI wasn't very fond of the avatar in those clips, it looked rather cliche and childish (the outfit), not to mention the fact that it moved very unconvincingly. However, I'm not sure about superimposing a real person on a VR dungeon though. Maybe it's because all this is new to me, but in my mind's eye a real person would stand out as more alien in the new dungeon than in the original series - because they were so low-tech back then, you cut it a lot of slack. Make sense?
Maybe I'm talking balls. Because now I think about it, it's not so bad...ohhh, this new crap is so disorientating!

QuotesFoo you!
and cheers anyway ^_^ -
Level 1 and 2And you need the chance to get a Smirkinoff flight in their, of course!
I'll give props to that!

HellzSo I guess it's only right that I make my presence here known! I started watching Knightmare regularly back in 1992 (my favourite series in my mind) and was hopelessly addicted from there. There might still be episodes on tape hidden away somewhere, but it's incredibly unlikely and even if there are, god knows how I'd find them. So I'm one of the fans eagerly awaiting a DVD release - absolutely essential!
Thanks you please -_-

10 years ago...I certainly was gutted when 1995 rolled around with no Knightmare...
Here's to the future though

Series 8 - Episode 1Lol, yea and the middle last guy stopped suddenly and the very last guy ran into the back of him. Especially when the Giddeon guy shouted STOP and almost had a heart attack when the snap dragon jumped out, that was funny.
Oh yes, I remember their entrance very cool.
The first episode of series 8 was something of a shocker for me when it was first shown. I don't think I'd seen a team lose on level 1 before, so to me it seemed like the game had upped the difficulty considerably. I didn't get the puzzle first time round either...mind you, I never understood any of the puzzles back then - everything was random or pot luck to me, certainly made things so tense! When they got to that trap-door I was wondering how the hell they could figure it out...anyone sussed how it would've worked since then?
-
BookFunnily enough I found my old books the other month and went through 'em. I never touched the stories when I first got them, too long and too small letters for my munchkin mind! Now I sailed through 'em in about two days
Fortress Of Assassins definately my favourite. Is it just me or is the role-playing bit of Labyrinths Of Fear insanely hard?
-
Level 1 and 2Hmmm...not entirely sure. But I will say I loved those levels when they utilised outdoor castles and stuff in them. Very picturesque and mysterious...
-
stupid dungenera (prob spelt wrong)Not quite stupid but never the less funny when he told the team he wanted to stay as a goblin.
That squeaky voice was classy I wonder what the reasoning behind that was. One of the first Knightmare episodes I ever saw, if not the first, I think...
There was the all-girl team in Series 3, I think it was, who couldn't tell left from right. That was painful to watch. Took them about five minutes just to leave the first room, ended up sidestepping off-camera through a wall at one point too. Knew they wouldn't last long.
That clip of team 5 in Series 8 panicking at the end of level one after the dungeoneer sidesteps to the opposite side of the room from the exit while being chased by goblins is priceless too..
That's the kind of tension we loved Knightmare for!

Favourite characterNever saw those particular episodes...

QuotesFrom a scene with Barry, Hands and Romahna (pilloried):
Barry: "If you were strong, you'd be able to capture us both. This is a strength potion."
Hands: "Is it beer?"
"Well, more or less. Tastes like beer, anyway."
"Oh no, I can't, I promised 'is lordship."
"No, there's no alcohol in it, so he won't mind."
"Well, if it hasn't got any alcohol I'm not interested."
Ohhhhh!!! I think I vaguely remember that one! how'd he get round that then?!
One of my personal favourites, from the Automatron (is that right?)
"Give me a word, or I take a limb, perhaps an arm, perhaps a leg, perhaps a head. Give me a word!"
In that deep booming voice, when you're about six years old - VERY scary! Even scarier when that team gave the wrong password one time...
