Corrdior of Blades

it doesnt go through his body. watch it frame by frame. its close but it misses
Well as I own a TV capture card and editing software, I intend to capture the event (assuming this is Barry's quest), slow it down and then publish it. Get this matter concluded for all to see.

ive just watched this again, im still certain it goes through his right hip, ok maybe the pixle doesnt actually go through, but u can certainly see it should at least have cut his right leg off from the hip,
hopefully the guy looking into will let us know soon, barry's team is legend, but believe u me he should be hopping around on one leg !

I do seem to remember Barry and one of the other dungeoneers being scratched by a blade - which in the older series would have lost them life force. Like in series 3 when Leo gets a clunk of the hovering axe on his head. Injuries like that gave the dungeon a greater sense of menace.
Treguard: "Oooh - life force damage..."

No, no, no, no, no! Neither Barry nor Dunstan was so much as scratched by a blade! It was a very near miss in each instance but a miss nonetheless. I have watched both scenes repeatedly and very carefully. I'm not an expert on optical illusions, but I've a vague notion that this one may be caused by the blades' circular nature; if they had been rectangular with sides extending as far as the radius of the blade, then both Barry and Dunstan would have been hit. Note the following statement by Alan Boyd ("Mystara" on this forum), one of Dunstan's advisors:
"Dunstan was not hit by the blade. It was close. But he wasn't hit (look at it in slow motion). They put blue masking tape on the floor to mark where the blades stretch to, so they can tell if he should have been hit by the blade. Of course, that doesn't mean that everything is aligned properly, graphically (which is why the blades can something seem too close to have not hit)" - http://www.knightmare.com/forum/http://www.knightmare.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=7;action=display;threadid=1378;start=msg25574#msg25574

Now now children, lets look at the video evidence. I have slowed the following CoB clip down to aprox 15% of it's original speed. Dammm me for setting my VHS to Long Play mode at the time, but it shows the incident clearly enough.
-
Personally I can't help thinking that Barry's right leg was hit by the blade, even if the rest of him missed it.

Barry's quest is always going to be one of those situations we will never know. Like Geoff Hurst in '66 (though the ball did go over the line), Barry's blade will always be one of those where we will enver know. If he did actually get hit, does anyone know if there was another team standing by. there would not be much time to stop the troll at the seris end would there?
-
not sure if i'm allowed to post pictures but here it is frame by frame:

That is a very good analogy! All you need now is for a Russian linesman (or some kind of pasing wizard in level 3) to state that the blade did not slice Barry- and if it did, it wouldn't have hurt much anyway, as it would have just nicked him a little.

shall we take them to court over it?
get this sorted out formally!!!
ha ha!
CoB used to scare me- I didn't like the noises much (I was about 3 and tried to force myself to not watch the show, which was of course, impossible).
Me and my mate from primary school all them years ago (I'm now 18) wanted to build a balsa wood Knightmare castle with all the rooms in it including CoB- now I look back and think- Impossible!!
...So I have created a game that incorporates it. (see other topic..erm... you'll find it)
-
I agree with that- CoB was a very scary challenge, particularly in series 8 where the blood and the music made it even worse. Although this series has often been slated, you gotta admit that the way they built up to some of the scenes was well done. In team 2 (Daniel)'s quest, Treguard really plays the final scenes well. At the time I was well-scared!

I reckon its that Majida!!!!!
He should put that sword next to his chair to good use.
No CoB in S7?
-
To quote from Skarkill (Again)
LOVELY!
-
another quote from scarkill:
Argh- get that pooka off me, please?
get it off me agh- I'll do anything...
...tht's one of the latest scenarios in my game at the mo.
type in 'puc', and a pooka floats towards and hovers around scarkill!!!
..then he drops a key, and you take it- silly!
