Properties: I'll include alternate version for some of these, since some places, whilst more evocative of the Dungeon, simply aren't the kind of places anyone really could build housing..

Brown strip (Old Kent Road, Whitechapel Road)

    Kitchen, Lillith's Domain

Alternative version: Horngarth, Lillith's Domain (I'm presuming that it extends beyond that little chasm area)

Light blue strip (The Angel Islington, Euston Road, Pentonville Road)

Wolfglade, Wolfenden High Street, Wolfenden Market Square

Pink strip (Pall Mall, Whitehall, Northumberland Avenue)

Rocks of Bruin, Vale of Vanburn, Ruins of Dungarth

Orange strip (Bow Street, Malborough Street, Vine Street)

Great Corridor of the Catacombs, Raven's Perch, Merlin's Room

Alternative version: Great Rift of Angar, Witchhaven Outskirts, Inner Witchhaven

Red strip (Strand, Fleet Street, Trafalgar Square)

Witchhaven Outskirts, Central Witchhaven, Greystagg's Palace

Alternative version: Greenshades Meadows, Greenshades Farm, Dunkley Eaves

Yellow strip (Leicester Square, Coventry Street, Piccadilly)

Dunkley Wood, Ariadne's Lair, Dunswater Shore

Alternative version: Dunkley Wood, Ariadne Glades, Dunswater Shore

Green strip (Regent Street, Oxford Street, Bond Street)

Winteria, Cavernwight Catacombs, Vale of Mogdred

Alternative version: Winteria Ruins, Winteria Fields, Vale of Mogdred

Dark blue strip (Park Lane, Mayfair)

    Linghorm, Marblehead

As for Chance and Community Chest cards, I'm not sure how we should do those. Do we want to keep the same effects, and just come up with replacement text? Do we want themes for each deck? (I never did figure out if there were supposed to be themes running through the decks in regular Monopoly.) If we're going to be keeping to the same game effects, is there a list of what the cards do anywhere online?

I like the fact that those strips are vaguely themed as it is.

Some Chance and Community Chest cards are (in)famous, such as "you have won second prize in a beauty competition, collect £10", and of course the "go to jail..." one. If I had more time I could probably recall more of them - I used to be an addict!

The "Go!" square could be Knightmare Castle or the Antechamber.

Re: A nice idea, and very KM, but it wouldn't work in practise as there's nothing to stop the other players from lying.

Great idea about the board design.

To stop the other players lying,if using the spyglass element, maybe halve the players could play for the Powers That Be, and the other half could play for the Oppostition.

Whether you trust the other players, and whether they tell you the truth is up to you

No different than say giving Skarkill something to let you go, or Elita taking the gem of you and running away without helping you

However, if you were playing for the Powers That Be, you wouldn't what to bring such dishounor to the Quest by lying would you?

Remember, Cheats and fools never prosper in Knightmare Castle...

Perhaps the spyglass card could allow you to make them Re-roll their dice roll?

EG: They roll a 6 which takes them past your squares, play Spyglass and they roll a 3 and land on your domain!

Or of ocurse see any cards that they have (Get out of Jail Free, Spell Cards, etc)

The "Go!" square could be Knightmare Castle or the Antechamber.

Something of an unnecessary post, as that idea had already been mentioned twice.

I know there are blank 'create your own' Monopoly sets out there, but I have no idea where to get them.

              Argos.

              waves hand

ooh ooh i already made one...

This, plus the fact that Knightmare Monopoly had been featured in Knightmare itself, is why I felt it inappropriate to suggest anything new. I've seen Sue's 'Knightmaropoly', and though I didn't get a chance to play it, it looked very good.

However, there are plenty of other popular board games... so if I may, I will redirect this thread.

              Characters:

              Miss Scarlett - Sidriss

              Mrs. White - Melly

              Mrs. Peacock - Lillith

              Professor Plum - Merlin

              Reverend Green - Grimaldine

              Colonel Mustard - Skarkill

Weapons: The dagger, rope and spanner can stay, as they were all in Knightmare too. My suggestions for the others are poison, club and crossbow.

              Rooms:

              Hall - S3 Roll-the-die room

Library - S4 Eye Shield room

              Lounge - Antechamber

Study - Any of Merlin's various chambers (Motley did mention Merlin's study on one occasion)

              Kitchen - S3 kitchen

Dining Room - Clue room (it's where dungeoneers eat, after all)

Billiard Room - Wellway room (since in both these rooms, the aim is to get something down a hole, so to speak)

              Ballroom - Fireball room

Conservatory - S3 Stained Glass Window room

Secret passages - Dwarf tunnel, Elf path

Any other ideas for Cluedo (or a different board game)?

                  Reverend Green - Grimaldine

                  Colonel Mustard - Skarkill

Seems like you're doing it on the colours, rather than the personality. I reckon Mildread's your Mrs White (she was old, see) or Mrs Grimwold.

And as for Reverend Green - Brother Mace was probably the holiest of all the religious characters, but Cedric was wearing the right colour as well.

Colonel Mustard - I count Sir Hugh de Witless as a (not very good) military man, and Gumboil as well. So I think you're safer with Skarkill...

Maybe Hordriss as Prefessor Plum? After all, Merlin was clearly losing his marbles towards the end of S4 and Hordriss never did. Though he did get captured a couple of times.

Can't fault you on the other two, though. Perfect choices.

How about another one: snakes and ladders, in reverse, where 1 is the top left square, 100 is the bottom right, and the board is full of wells, descenders, FLOAT spells and Smirkenorffs... obviously the point being to go DOWN!

All great ideas. There aren't many other great boardgames that lend themselves to this kind of templating. I asked my friend and he suggested "Hungry Hungry Pookas" which just about shows the limits of the games we can adapt as well as the circles I mix in!

As no other dungeoneer was eaten by a blocker, we'll never know.

                          I've had another mad idea.

                          Knightmare Guess Who?

So that's getting near the bottom of the barrel...

I built a custom monopoly board for some friends, a while ago. So having read this thread has made me wonder....

How would you build a Knightmare monopoly? What would the properties be?

I would hope the railway stations represented the sword, crown, shield and cup.

                            Any other ideas?
