The final episode of The Olden Days podcast was released a few weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E42RgHUnOxw After eighty regular episodes and fifteen specials over exactly ten years, we've finally called it a day with this one. It was great fun making The Olden Days podcast and there's a ton of really great chat in there covering all kinds of old movies and TV shows, which will all remain available to check out at any time. I'd never have volunteered to edit the Temporal Discussion podcast without having become so superbly adept at editing The Olden Days, so you can thank The Olden Days for the fact that Temporal Discussion didn't fizzle out completely at some point last year... or at least that it isn't still stuck on Series 5 Episode 4, or something like that!

I'm browsing through Fan Creations. I don't know if this is suitable for it but I'm working on a card based dungeon crawler that's definitely influenced by Knightmare. It's played live on stream with the audience, so the viewers are the dungeoneers and my character guides them. Is it worth posting in Fan Creations, or is that more for Knightmare specific fan projects? https://www.tiktok.com/@gongylus/video/7599004594433232150 (Mods, feel free to delete this if it isn't relevant! Just thought I'd share.)

I enjoyed the moment where Daniel disguised himself as Lord Fear In taking on Lord Fear's Series 8 appearance, Daniel went from a skullcap to a skull helmet. As watchers, this scene gave us a sense of what would have happened if Series 6 Team 4 had used Lord Fear's ring to turn January into Lord Fear in Hands's presence.

It seems to me that someone who's well-read would allude to those archetypes intuitively, if not intentionally, due to their prevalence in literature.

The 'crouching on the floor' idea came from the production team through Pickle's direction, not us (undoubtedly to make it more exciting). Otherwise, we'd probably just have moved Giles laterally, which would've been slicker and less complicated than him thinking he needed to crouch down again each time (which, of course, wasn't necessary at all).

Merlin reflects on the emergence of his alter ego Mogdred in Series 2. Based on I'm Going Slightly Mad by Queen (1991). Official lyric video When the count of episodes rises And we've double the dungeoneers A pale and more clean-shaven side of me Appears on Levels 3 and 2, oh dear Is he trying to tell you something? Dismissal's what he wants for you He says that he likes observing fear He's my dark side, I wish it wasn't true I'm going slightly bad I'm going slightly bad It finally happened, happened It finally happened, oh no It finally happened I'm slightly bad Oh dear Put Treguard under a mute spell Cast SHROUD, it was chilling His playpen put Tony in hell He wakes up dragons for killing He wants a pledge from believers Monks he pretends to be Miss Gretel he dared to kidnap To Chris he threatened puppetry Oh dear He's got a giant hand He's got a giant hand He's trying to grab you, grab you He's trying to grab you, oh yes One day technomancers Will steal his act Lord Fear He makes sure my every good deed'll Be balanced by one that's cruel He's striving to make me shut down a phase And send kids homeward for Yule...

I'm sure I remember some team in a later series making that mistake (thinking the food counted as one of their two objects and having to be told otherwise), so if you're right about their thought process, they weren't the last to be confused about that! It was Series 4 Nicky's team in Oakley's glen! Advisor: "Are we only allowed to take two things?" Treguard: "Two things." Advisor: "And we've already taken the bread?" Treguard: "Oh no no, that doesn't count."

While They Were Famous: Celebrity appearances on Brookside. From the Pope to Lily Savage, there was something to suit all tastes. There is now a video online with clips of all those celebrity appearances. In November 2003, days after Brookside had ended on Channel 4, I made a post on this forum in which I imagined a continuing version of Brookside Close where Brookside characters interacted with visiting characters from another series (namely Knightmare). Last month that's exactly what happened via a crossover within Hollyoaks (and Hollyoaks Later). If I tried to use exclamation marks, one wouldn't be enough, so I'll restrict myself to full stops. This one-off return, with original actors filmed at the original Brookside Close location, is comparable to Knightmare's one-off return in YouTube Geek Week 2013 with original actors filmed in the studio where Knightmare was made, including a bearded character who appeared from the first episode onwards.

Well, I THINK it's unintended anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At_LNDO1eq0 Wow, and we thought the place-of-choice scenes in the series went on too long.....

This scene would have been many watchers' introduction to Mogdred. How menacing to come straight out of temporal disruption into this, with a looming face delivering a barrage of insults (pathetic, pitiful, ordinary, intruder) and Treguard getting so alarmed. I find this line from Mogdred, directed at Treguard, very intriguing: "Silence, you cleaner of cells! If you send your charges this deep then you cannot expect my mercy." In one sentence, Mogdred demeans Treguard; in the next, he acknowledges Treguard's role as the instigator of quests. More than that, he portrays Treguard less neutrally than Treguard portrays himself. You could speculate that Mogdred is showing a grudging respect for the Dungeonmaster, and that that is why he doesn't try to constrain Treguard as he did in Series 2 Quest 7. Then again, Treguard was able to defy that constraint ("Le..tter O!"). Mogdred tempted the dungeoneer to take of the Helmut Best left to Oktoberfest perhaps. Question: Wouldnt the GLORY spell, given to them by mogdred have helped? Oasis might have asked: (What's the Story) Mogdred GLORY?

Dungeoneer Richard from Series 8 Team 1 sings about his quest. Based on Jealous Type by Doja Cat (2025). Official video, original lyrics Oh, let me know if this is feckless, I Have to choose between four objects and just can't decide Which two I should be taking from the scroll's advice Maybe I'll regret not picking up Stiletta's knife It's Stiletta's knife The clue room Can condemn you to a new doom When the scroll says 'green', the clue is To look for where that hue is Got past balls of fire I did not wait in that lane But my quest's not fine It's dyin' Oh, let me know if this is feckless, I Have to choose between four objects and just can't decide Which two I should be taking from the scroll's advice Maybe I'll regret not picking up Stiletta's knife It's Stiletta's knife Joanne Heywood, I met Joanne Heywood Joanne Heywood, then I met Paul Valentine Joanne Heywood, I met Joanne Heywood Joanne Heywood, then I met Paul Valentine I said, "I wanna get to Level Two" I'm gonna need a trapdoor and a code today Had a bottle full of pigeon poo I unstopper, throw it onto the statue, it comes to life All it took to bring back Motley And he said "Chlistmas" when he started up And if we'd got 'Green for a girl' like we should've done I wouldn't be locked in, meeting Bhal-Shebah, ha No dungeoneer wants to be cooked alive for leaving a blade Because a basic hint caused too much debate I took the key instead and later we paid I got flambéed...

In Mike & Angelo Series 7 Episode 5 (February 1995), from 5 minutes 40 seconds in, Angelo sprays homemade Cat Pong to get rid of suspected mice. The sound effect is very similar, if not identical, to a sound that many CITV viewers would have heard a few months earlier: the Reach Wand zapping runes in Knightmare Series 8.
