If we look at what is taken to be the first Vampire novel,

Dracula, then we can see that the Vampire is a deeply passionate and sexual being.

It has a large amount of Charisma and seemingly can cast an enticing spell on women. Ah, someone make me a Vampire, I could do with some Charisma

Does anyone have an idea what year Treguard could've been born in?

He was young when he lost his castle and that was in the reign of King John and John was defeinatly on the throne when treguard got back Dunshelm. The Sorcerer's Isle was set in 1216 which is the year John's reign ended.

I'm gessing he was born in the late 1180s.

I reckon Treguard would've been in his 40's in The Sorcerer's Isle. So... maybe 1175.

By the way, has anyone else noticed the maths error at the start of the first book? William II ("Rufus") succeeded to the throne on the death of Willliam the Conqueror in 1087. William had Dunshelm built as a border defence against Scots marauders and a diversion to keep Saxons from rebelling against the Normans. It says in the book that "William's plan worked for a century and a half", before Vestan of Brittany stole the castle and murdered Baron Dunshelm.

A century and a half later however would have been the year 1237 at the earliest, over 20 years after King John died, and yet John is still supposed to be King when Treguard slew the Gruagach, when he defeated Arawn, when he fought Queen Hel, when he battled Morgana Le Fay...

Queen Hel, is she in Fortress of Assassins.

In Norse mythology Loki had a duaghter called Hel and she was Queen of the Dead.

            Was it her?

Just out of interest I wonder what era Knightmare was supposed to be in. Well particularly about series 1-5. Here http://knightmare.com/club/3-1/p4.htm it says that Treguard is 39. I also woder what era s6-8 was in.

Mainly in the reigns of King John and Henry III. Interestingly Gwenderlin said she came from the 11th century. Olaf was a Viking and the Viking from was circa 793-circa 1066.

At the beginning of Can you beat the Challenge Treguard is in Byzantium (Constantinople) where the crusaders were sacking the city. This was in 1204. This means that Dunshelm was probably lost circa 1194 when John was his brother's regent

Olaf is clearly an anachronism, as the Viking culture he's based on had more or less died out by the middle of the twelfth century. Also, the horned-helmet he wears is a falsity, as to the best of our knowledge Viking helmets never had horns in them. (Horned Vikings are a stereotype handed down to us by the Victorians.)

The horns made them appear demonic.

Anyway Olaf should have had a sword or axe not a plastic club that he had to share with Fatilla and Mr Grimwald.

Too bad Olaf had to go. I was dissapointed not to see Fatilla in series 5.

Owen. According to the books, Smirkenorff only hatched a couple of centuries before the first season was set, whereas from the way Owen was talking in season 3 it's clear he's at least a millennium old.

How old is the Brollachan? I know it was pulled through time from Cornwall but that's all.

I know it was brought from another time and dimension, like Grimaldine, but as you similar to what you say, which time and dimension?
