Motley! Good or Bad?
-
If it's the guy in the show, then the answer is bad. He's terrible.
I agree. If a certain bald wizard- hag composite had any say in the strategy of the Opposition, they'd be chasing the real villains of the piece, the Knightmare jesters, rather than wasting time eliminating 12 year olds who can't see and can only carry two items at a time.
It doesn't help that he hung around with Mellisandre, who attracts my derision like a magnet. But even in his own right, his jokes are absolutely lame. The way he sometimes laughs uproariously when a brat offers him a completely unfunny joke that they haven't even gone to the trouble of remembering properly annoys me too. His only saving grace is that fact that in S3 he gets away with perhaps the most blatant *double entendre *in the show.

Oh, I still think Motley's in S3 was best, because it was so long.
Okay, maybe the wrong wording given the context.
-
That's three awful puns and double entendres I've made in one night. I think I'll just go and throw myself into Festus's jaws now to save you all any more pain.
-
Yes please do, and while your in their take these with you.
Hands him a pile of mis-printed business cards saying "Lord_Nob"
Oh, that is unfortunate, dearie. pushes Festus's jaws open and pulls Lord_Bob inside, followed by much mad cackling and electronic barking
-
Turns Lord_Bob in to a cat
"Sorry I've just always wanted to do that"
-
There were several he made in S3, but I think the one GG's referring to is...
"Up there... up there... your leg over, and BOSH! You're in!"
Yes.
"...Your leg over, and Bosh, You're in. Right, get ready for the ride of your life."
I mean, surely that wasn't accidental.

If anyone wants to listen for themselves, there's a clip of that on this site, obviously under Series 3. Now I just need to locate my Series 3 video, which seems to have been lost or eaten. I'm not scolding any particular quasi-canines yet, but I have a horrible feeling about where it might be.

(Warning and advance apologies: risque post coming up.)
That Motley innuendo is very funny. Without wishing to make too much of a theme of this, one of my 'favourite' innuendos (as spotted in retrospect - I was too young to pick up any the first time round) was Gwendoline to Motley: 'Stay here - if you wanna be shafted!' (To which Motley replied: 'I think I'm in love...I think I'm in danger!')
But the most memorable, for me, is the jaw-dropping Series 6 moment where Ah-Wok - bear in mind his accent - refers to Sidriss as 'Syphiris'! (That's what I heard, anyway.) Kudos to Mark Knight et al for getting that one past Mary Whitehouse et al!
