I can think of 3 more with a forth possible

    theres

Warlock (the small village mentioned & Visited in Series 7)

    The Great Rift of Angar

The Ruins of Dungarth (from series 4)

Might also be an idea to included The Wolfs Howl Inn from Surounds within the Wolfenden Entry.

Thanks for those, Ricky (although in fact Dungarth was already on the list). I'm asking around for artists at the moment.

Obviously, Knightmare is not like fantasy worlds such as Middle Earth and Earthsea, which had fixed maps for all adventures. In fact, Knightmare's explicitly shifting geography makes it far from ideal for mapping. (Not just across series, but within: for example, I doubt that there was consistency in the areas Smirkenorff flew over to get from A to B in Series 5.) Having said that, the Star Trek universe didn't have a map from the outset, yet someone managed to produce a book of star charts for it 35 years after its inception, so speculatively mapping the Knightmare realm could be successful.

can we get a list of any KMRPG-only locations?

Might also be an idea to included The Wolfs Howl Inn from Surounds within the Wolfenden Entry.

Due to the complexity of the task, I would suggest that locations that weren't strictly seen or mentioned on Knightmare be left out. If the initial task is successful, newer versions could always be produced with fanfictional locations incorporated.

I do know what you're saying, and it was certainly true of the layout of the Dungeon in the first three seasons, as was explicitly stated both in the series and the novellas.

But overall I've come to view this as a question of interpretation, at least when it comes to the broader geography; the outdoor locations, I suspect, such as forests and villages, all stay where they are, and it's the paths that link them that move around.

(Admittedly, this doesn't account for places like the Crazed Heifer jumping from one forest to the next, but we can always rationalise that; maybe the inn from S4 burned to the ground, and the owner decided to re-found it in a new building somewhere else.)

EDIT: On second thoughts, Drassil, kindly mind your own business and keep your opinions to yourself. They are not wanted.

Whenever a team got beat in series 3 and you see them walk away, there is another castle on the horizon, any theories as to what that castle might be?

I call it 'Fortress Continuity-Glitch'... or at a stretch perhaps the remains of one of the 'other' Dunshelm forts mentioned in the first novella.

Won't Dwarf Tunnels (Series Three Only) and the Corridor of Blades going to be a challenge. I must admit I did once try to create a map of the dungeon and I found it near impossible to do Series Three alone...

But then again it does help to put our heads together. Why don't we throw in our own designs? Compare them and plaster the best ideas together?

I love maps of fantasy worlds - the ones in Fighting Fantasy books come to mind - so it'll be great seeing the finished result of the Knightmare one

The good news is that Modeski has said he'll have a crack at drawing it for the AP site, so expect to see it fairly soon.

Golden Galleon too-- a sort of successor to Cloudwalker if I recall?

I knocked this up based on a middlearth type of idea, combining elements from as much of the greater dungeon as possible.

I did have an idea to make a 3D version with the 3 levels moving down like a layered cliff face, with level one at the top and three at the bottom with Goth towering up the side of all three from the bottom. This will have to be a hand drawn piece I think. Having said that Treguard's blurb and the view from Smirkenorf's flights would seem to imply that the levels are not geographic.

Maybe a topographical map [think London Underground map] of dungeon interiors rather than a geographical map would make more sense for them?

I always prefered to think that the places and characters were not destroyed and reformed but what changes between the seasons is the path, the quest itself, not the dungeon.
