drop-off in discssion on this forum and the chat room on Interactive KM has long since become an irrelevant session held for bots. This website hasn't been updated since November.

Is it worth carrying on, or should we just be happy with the memories?

To be quite honest, the argument is long over.

The chances of a commercial release of KM DVDs are zero, it would have happened by now. A few people buying illegitimate copies has not caused this.

Whilst watching, recording and buying knock-off copies is illegal, so is recording songs from the radio, downloading ROMs of old video games and being drunk in a public house (Who can say they haven't?)

The demand for a proper release of KM DVDs would have been suficient to justify a release (Kids programes such as Rainbow and the Dreamstone were released on DVD after all!) but it never has and never will happen.

Unfortunately...

Surely Kenny would be a better dungeoneer...

A knice kill would then be a certainty!

I was at the Wolves V Oldham FA Cup 3rd round game at Molineux yesterday. The Oldham right-back was number 12 : Chris Wolfenden (He had a good game too!)

Much recent talk has centred on the future of ITV given that both Sky and Ntl seem to have plans for the the broadcaster, which seems to have been in decline for some years.

BSkyB shocked the British media scene by snapping up 17.9% of ITV shares on Friday for £940million at a time where there has been much speculation as to the future of the tarrestrial giant.

Today, ITV rejected merger proposals with Ntl (Richard Branson, owner of the Virgin Group, is its largest shareholder) stating that the offer "materially undervalued" the company. These proposals had been put forward before the Sky purchase and was shown to value the ITV shares some 30p cheaper than the Sky offer. This lead to criticism of the power of Murdoch by Branson and the indication that OFCOM may launch a probe into the fairness of the Sky/ITV deal.

ITV is the UK's largest commercial broadcaster offering free-to-air services

However recently ITV, like Branson and his Virgin empire, has been badly hit by a fall of advertising revenue as well as a fall in viewing figures and market share.

Earlier in the year, other private equity groups were reported to be preparing a bid for ITV. ITV is also currently without a Chief Executive.

Regardless of what we as individuals may think of Murdoch, Branson, Sky and Virgin/Ntl, it surely upsets us all to view the decline of this broadcaster. One which, at the end of the day, did so much to entertain us all as children by broadcasting the original Knightmare run...

I miss the fact that kids of all ages could be entertained and challenged by a 25minute show.

I coment on the forum, use chat but prefer to write in TES but it is amazing the amount of people I run in to that have no connection to these three organs remember and comment on KM without prompting. I am 22 but my 11 year old sister has enjoyed watching Knightmare and even a few months ago I got into a conversation at work on KM. I was off shift and in the work's kitchen when I heard one lad (Again about my age) say "Who was that bloke who hosted Knightmare, that show with kid's going around dungeons?" After stating that it was Treguard, about 5 of us discussed the finer points of KM for the next 20 mins and how today's weak "everybody wins" Kid's TV is dir in comparison.

How many kid's programmes today are as harsh on mistakes as KM? Too many let kids win despite any mistakes they make yet KM would only let kids win if they deserved it (Well, most of the time anyway...)

Dungeoneer- "Yes, I do."

Treguard-"I don't believe you. In these PC days when kids are not even allowed to play conkers at school, I fail to believe you have expereince of tackling catacombites, drunken knights and mystic floating bombs, now get out of my sight for lying!"

Dungeoneer-"You live in a rocky cave with no furniture, I fail to belive your standard of living will be improved by a ruby or silken glove"

On encountering Mogdred (RIP John)

Mogdred-"Look upon Mogdred and quail!"

Dungeoneer-"I am wearing a helmet that prevents me from seeing anything that is more that 4 steps away, and besides, that hat removes any fear that your voice can enduce"

This is terribly sad. As a fan who started watching in series 2 as a young (5 year old) boy, my memories are of a man who held a quiet yet friendly authority as Merlin and who was capable of provoking a terrified response from this young boy as Mogdred. That he was able to play 2 contrasting roles equally well is a testiment to his undoubted talent.

Whilst it may be a point of view different to other members, and you are all welcome to shoot me down in flames, I personally think that a Knew series of Knightmare would be too far removed from my personal memories to make it appealing. I fully support the idea of a DVD release, but too much time has passed for Knightmare to be re-born in any form that resembles "The Knightmare I knew"

Sorry to bring this up after a long time, but I watched the video of this episode over the weekend and the team clearly knew what to do in the clue-room. As Richard entered, the advisor in the middle clearly said "I have seen this room before" to suggest that the team had seen the recording of the first quest, and knew what to do!

Good stuff! Hopefully this time we can see series 3!

Whilst bored at work today, I was looking through the shared documents in the departmental e-mail account and found an interesting game where by typing a name, that persons ideal job is generated. I tried some Knightmare names and got some interesting results...

Treguard-Emperor of the world (Not just the castle he rules...)

Lord Fear-Sewage worker (Surely this would be Lissard instead?)

Mogdred-Pole Dancer (Look upon Mogdred and ogle!)

Merlin- Teaching pensioners to drive (The one group with a worse memory than him!)

Hordriss- Computor nerd (and an excellent one at that!)

Sidriss- Chef (If her magic is anything to go by, I would avoid the fish!)

Brother Mace-Landlord (I kid you not! Prehaps Gumboil could work the cellar)

Granitas-Proffessional thief (After guarding all those clue objects from thieves as well!)

All of these are entirely genuine and appear as they appeared on the screen!

I prefered the earlier credits and the first intro music. I just dont know why they had to change it,if it aint broke, why spend time trying to fix it?

One of the few quests I enjoyed watching in series 4, along with the winning quest and the first quest of the series. My question, if it is still possible to pose one, is what the team felt about the changes between series 3 and 4? It must have surely been a shock, as whilst they knew they would experience a unique quest, they experienced a quest completely changed to series 3.

Sorry if this has already come up,but which teams do you think were lucky to progress as far as they did?I think that richard's team from s1 were very lucky as the dungeoneer was quiet and unresponsive and two of the advisors did nothing but argue!Your views?

(following akash and co's early departure) "farewell team.Your quest was a short but merry one" meaning "you were bloody hopeless,leave now"

2 questions that i have often wondered about

1.How did they attract dungeoneers for series 1?Later series could sell on the reputation of knightmare but this wasnt the case in 1987.

2.Who was the kid on series 6-8 opening credits and how was he recruited?
