I guess KM was always at the cutting edge of technology.. Now that technology has moved on, KM is moving with it, possibly bringing in the concept of phone / mobile / inernet voting or interactive KM...

I have been trying to keep up to date with Series 5 through watching as much as I can on challenge, but I cannot be there to watch all the episodes, and our VCR is broken so it won't record.. I am banking all my hopes on Leggy's downloads, but it seems that they have stopped at Episode 4...

Hope I catch you here leggy, or does anyone else know what's happening?

Well, there are a couple of things that I would have differently if I were one of them.. I would have taken the gold instead of the horn and would have been tempted to take the left door instead of the one with the frightknight above it..

I won't argue with their choices though, as we all know their fate in the end...

Could you not have the extras on another cassette? Just an idea. And, VHS would be available to everyone, whereas DVD wouldn't. In terms of price, VHS is cheaper to buy than DVD.

True, but in terms of production cost, dvd's are cheaper than vhs.. With dvd's you can get all the extras on the same disk, rather than having to buy another tape - making it cheaper to buy 1 DVD with extras for, say £13, rather than 2 VHS's for £16.

I think that the DVD campaign is great- but what about VHS? I haven't got a DVD player- I've only got a VCR, and am not going to get a DVD player. Does anyone know if Knightmare is considered being released on VHS?

Although it would probably be a good idea - VHS release is extremely unlikely. VHS tapes are being phased out more and more, and the cost of DVDs is only a fraction of what a standard videotape costs, therefore there is a much higher possibility of getting a DVD release, than on VHS.

Has to be the last episode of Series 7.. Im 18 now, so i'd have only been 8 back then - that episode is my biggest memory of knightmare - which lasted for 10 years - I can remember hiding behind the sofa when that huge troll entered knightmare castle...

Ahhhh memories.. I really hope that challenge get S7 - It would make my year if I could see that episode again.

There was the thing in series 4 where the ceiling started to fall down as the dungeoneer went along the weeping drawbridge

And that team was blatently let off, as you can see that she had at least another 3 steps to go before she got out of the room - yet she did not die...

Ah... the eternal question... Will Challenge buy more KM series?

It much depends on if challenge deem that knightmare is popular enough to warrant them buying more series. I am hopeful at the moment, because if you see the ratings, KM's ratings are going up in general, while such programs as takeshi's castle are going down.

Well, it depends on lots of things. Televirtual are working on a reformatting of the show. Obviously the reformatting and experimentation takes time, and it needs to fit in with their other projects, so don't expect anything to be ready tomorrow. Also remember that the fact they're developing it doesn't necessarily mean anyone will show it. As Tim Child has said, nothing's for definite on that score. Here's his most recent comment on progress so far, taken from another board on this forum:

*"We've applied for a Film council/lottery funded grant to help us build the new KM demonstrator. That's why we stopped work on the current development images for a month or so to await the result of that application.

I'm not currently allowed to say what that result is - but I think you can expect things to start happening again."*
