I doubt that, actually. It's remarkably hard to fail in the 2:30 slot it's being moved to, since the expectations for that slot are so low. There was a considerable dip in viewers when Richard died (apart from the tribute special & anniversary). Now, that Carol is going more viewers will turn off. I'm not saying they won't move Deal or No Deal, of course, simply asking why they would. In an ideal world, Noel would quit and would bring back Noel's House Party!!!!!!

The trouble is that Jackanory was still immensely popular, meaning a guaranteed large audience. Whilst Knightmare was popular in its day it currently has a following that could only really be considered a niche market and as such would probably be a big financial risk for anyone to take on. Although I do of course love the idea of a new version of Knightmare (if it's done right) I seriously think our efforts would be better spent pushing for more repeats. At least if we could get them shown on a more mainstream channel it might interest more bigwigs in putting in the cash for a new series.

We are talking about ITV broadband which shows old programmes! Okay, but you were asking about the original broadcaster. That's Children's ITV, not ITV Broadband. Either way, they'd still need to negotiate a new contract with Granada Media/Anglia before broadcasting Knightmare, or they'd be breaking the law. To the best of my knowledge, there's no 'automatic-reversion-of-rights' to the original broadcaster. Which is a shame looked at some ways. (Rights to the format for making shows can revert from a studio to the creators after about seven years, which is why it was possible for the KMVR remake to be attempted, but re-broadcast of material that's already been produced has to be renegotiated every time.)
