Series 4-5 were always a little quiet for my liking, with just the rustling of the leaves as the dungeoneer, through the eyeshield, trudges through the forests.

I preferred music, although not too loud it drowns out what anybody's saying. I'm one of those types of people where if more than one person talks I go "You wha'?", so it doesn't help things!

I like threads that become active after 23 months, it's a bit like forum members who awake from hibernation, don't 'cha think?

Firstly, it seems that I covered for RobinJB during his Shanghai abscence, as Oct 2003- Jun 2004 was the period where I did most of my posting!

Secondly, there is a feeling (well, with me it is) that I've run out of things to talk about with regards to Knightmare.

Thirdly, and related to my second point, most people have seen up to all the 8 series of Knightmare on Challenge, taped them, and can watch them forever and ever and ever (and only wince at slightly foolish voice-overs). People have had their hearty Knightmare fix, and it's unclear whether a cycle will occur, when people will re-rediscover Knightmare at a later date. Huge amount of credit to Challenge, though. Without them this forum would be more barren by now, I believe.

I belonged to a forum of schoolfriends, and after we all left that school in 2003 the post count of people gradually dropped over the summer, then people went to University, and by mid 2004 there was no-one left. The glory days of 2002 (and many debated that I look back on and think 'whoa!') were gone.

That's my fourth (and to your relief, final) reason- that we're just getting older, and some of us have other commitments, whether it be work or University.

Man, that's a little depressing. Still, the fire's not burnt out here- not by a long shot!

As for the Amiga Knightmare game, I got confused, and then bored, and then mystified as to how all my team could die if they ran into a wall several times.

I've only just done the other one, so it's fresh in my mind!

Except for a bit of series 6 which I leant to a friend before we went back to Uni. How am I gonig to get it back? I'll just have to wait a long time, that's all!

I'll let them off. Team 17 have been going round for a huuuuge length of time, and I remember them from such beauties as Qwak, Arcade Pool and Alien Breed 3D (the first one). And Superfrog, of course. A couple of hiccups and duds aside (let's face it, 10-pin bowling sims aren't as much fun as the real thing), I'm glad Team 17 haven't been eaten up by the huge wibbly monster that is EA Games, who now seemingly produce everything.

But anyway, the idea of customisable worms for the latest incarnation sounds good. Must admit I haven't played a Worms game since the Amiga-only Worms: Director's Cut came out back in Christmas 1996, their swansong for that machine of vanilla goodness.

Might play Superfrog again soon, actually...

We can, and they are, as usual, great.

Series 6 is my fav. of these new bunch. Of course, series 6 is my fav. of the last 4.

Brother Strange looks even more of an enigma in those drawings, it has to be said! Captured the mystery of his character very well.

Barry's quest is always going to be one of those situations we will never know. Like Geoff Hurst in '66 (though the ball did go over the line), Barry's blade will always be one of those where we will enver know.

That is a very good analogy! All you need now is for a Russian linesman (or some kind of pasing wizard in level 3) to state that the blade did not slice Barry- and if it did, it wouldn't have hurt much anyway, as it would have just nicked him a little.

Ah, this is a shame- it was looking good, the pilot- particularly with all the familiar faces around.

Children's TV could still do with a good kick up the backside- or should that just be Dick and Dom (actually, musn't be too unkind to them, they did show Hugo Myatt...in a cage...briefly...looking a tad confused...)?

It's amazing that the general public (or perhaps in this case the big cheeses at television towers) will tend to favour the inane and idiotic. Look what's been top of the music charts, for example...shudder.

Keep faith, Lord Tim of Childshire, and hopefully you may find a big cheese willing to take the plunge. Until then, we've still got 8 classic series still being broadcast today.

I'd do one, but I'm hopeless at rearranging lyrics. I don't even know what the original ones are half the time.

Really quite groovy, especially the scene with the crab! Terrific!
