Rosey and I have been watching Series 2 & 3 recently. I always find it rather sobering to watch a Knightmare actor whom I've found out has passed away since the last time I saw them. Tom Karol created some really entertaining scenes.

There were some continuity issues whenever new authors took over anyway.)

To answer Beltane's question: What's DJR 87?? I noticed while writing the story that it bizarrely had a bunch of unintended similarities to The Wizard of Oz, and decided it would be fitting if the path to the Emerald Greenwood actually resembled a yellow brick road. The corridor is therefore based on the 'bland room' that was used for many things in the original Knightmare dungeon, and the graffiti is a nod to it being created by David Rowe for the 1987 series, as if he had signed it. Oh, I get it now! Thanks!

Has anyone seen any photos of Hugo Myatt from before he was in Knightmare? There was a Knightmare question in the final round of Paul Sinha's TV Showdown on Saturday! Something about which programme featured the dungeon master Treguard (I didn't catch the exact wording). I'm pleased to report that Jon Richardson got it right. It's repeated on Wednesday at 11:40pm (ITV) if anyone wants to watch.

I think you're right about us not having discussed those articles on the forum before, but there have been links to them on the website (Series 2 Team 5 page) since 2013/2014.

In The Quest For The Dragons Egg (a.k.a. the gamebook section of The Forbidden Gate, the fifth Knightmare book), Motley recites a rhyme about islanders with 'xanthous gaze' or 'eyes of virid hue' who the player may encounter later on. You have written in the Interactive Knightmare Lexicon about other aspects of this gamebook, so perhaps you had 'virid hue' in your head without realising. Oh yeaahhh, I remember that now you mention it. The word choice in the fanfic really was coincidental (I considered a whole bunch of synonyms before settling on "virid"), but that's probably why it sounded so right to me!

If anyone hasn't seen it yet, the Knightmare Live Twitch interview with Alec Westwood is fantastic. He shares some headcanons about Folly that fit really nicely with stuff that's hinted at in the first book (even though he didn't know about Folly being in the book!), and reveals some information about a new character he would have played in Series 3 if he'd chosen to stay on. Really interesting!

'Deep End' is on Drama this Monday at midday, repeated on Tuesday at 11am. 'The Party's Over' is also on Tuesday at 12:35pm, so you can watch both of Jackie's episodes back-to-back on that day!

Thanks for sharing Canadanne! There’s a few there where I know the programs, but not well enough to have worked out the answer. The ones I’m shocked I didn’t get are Neighbours, Wacaday, and Pigeon Street. They are three programs I watched a lot when I was little, but I still don’t recognise them as lyrics from the theme tunes!

Haddon Hall, a filming location for Knightmare Series 6 and 7 (and El Rescate del Talismán), featured in new BBC2 series 'The Sweet Makers' this evening. It's available on iPlayer and is repeated on Saturday at 5:50pm. The Banqueting Hall and Long Gallery are briefly shown at 03:36 and 33:23 respectively!

Both have been disembodied heads directly addressing the audience so you can allow for a tichy bit of confusion.

This week's episode of Tony Robinson: Coast To Coast (Friday at 8pm on Channel 5) will feature Rievaulx Abbey, where Sumayya was killed by the Dreadnort in Series 6. He also visits a sawmill in Helmsley, not far from the castle used as a KM filming location that year.
