Personally i think that Series 3 was the strictest series

Consider Series 3, Team 9 - Scott and co. They mistime their leap off the spindizzy and go through the wrong door - the correct one is clearly marked with the symbol of their quest, and Treguard even says that they're now facing one of Merlin's additional puzzles. They survive, because it's not a terribly difficult puzzle, but they've already missed out on the first step. Even so they're not forcibly killed...
Not only are they not sued for allowing piracy to occur (unlike P2P networks which have legitmate uses and do not charge) they're making a profit out of the piracy. So eBay doesn't genuinely have an interest in preventing illegal activity

It's very dangerous to say that ebay should be held liable for the sale of copyright-infringing goods. The person who commits the copyright infringement is the guilty party, not Ebay. They are a very large operation, and auctions ARE closed down; however, the manpower involved in checking - manually - every auction that is reported is simply huge. I imagine they prioritise it by something like the number of reports, and there's no way Knightmare is ever going to rack up the same number of reports as other dodgy auctions.

Hi all,
I got bored searching through the Episode Discussion forum for threads manually, and I couldn't get the Search function to work adequately, so I made an index of all the threads in the forum sorted by series and episode number.
I was planning on editing this later on to add the names of the teams to the episodes, if people think that'd be useful. Poor old series 3 is in a bit of a state compared to the others, too.
Don't know if some Friendly Moderator(tm) wants to move and/or pin this in the Episode Discussion forum itself.
Sorry for making what will be three replies to myself - the maximum length of a post is rather short, and I can only get three series in a post before it starts complaining that they're too long
Big it up to Morghanna! The best Knightmare baddie killing the most annoying dungeoneer in the show's history. Was it just me or did Martin have the biggest strop on with his advisors throughout level 3? Didn't look like he wanted to be there at all and deserved to lose so close to victory! Evil but true!
Nooooo, Martin is great! From the I'm-such-a-cool-teenager pout he does right after calling his advisors, through the "stop whispering, I can't hear you" chiding and the "hello?" to them when they're whispering amongst themselves, his manoeuvring skills (especially when walking round/over the bones in the first level 3 room)... he was a top dungeoneer. No-one else that series got so involved; shaking his legs after he climbed out of the 'water' in the pool room, dusting himself down after he got out of the mine cart... and the joke he told to Motley was better than Leo's team's bungled effort
I think he really, really wanted to win, and thought he could do it, and as such was evidently disappointed when he knew or felt that they'd failed when not getting Owen's riddle right ("sigh C'mon, let's go").
I always preferred watching the teams who really got into it and wanted to win, as opposed to the ones scared of losing. Martin's team in series 3, and Giles' team in series 4, are both great fun to watch - because they're really enjoying themselves.
I checked ahead on the tv guide but couldn't find knightmare anywhere on monday's listings. any knews, anyone? Well, I'm off to write strong letters of complaint to Challenge! over their repeated annoying diddling with the schedule. Not really. Or should we?
It's been known for a while - and mentioned on the front page of the main website - that Knightmare is moving to weekends from the 4th september onwards. Two episodes a day on both Saturday and Sunday, so it'll only really be slightly slower progress - 4 episodes a week instead of 5.
It's be very interesting to know exactly what the gargoyle would have told them if they'd been correct. Would he have told them the correct way? If so, what use were any of the Level 3 clue objects? I still find it a little confusing. Mogdred said none were of use: surely he couldn't have been telling the truth.

I think, having finally had a chance to watch this series from Sky+ recordings (and therefore actually seeing the first 3 minutes of each episode, which always used to be cut off for me by ntl due to their sloppy switching from TV Travel Shop to Challenge...), that I know what the Gargoyle would have said.
Treguard hints at the start of episode 6 that the team have missed information from the Gargoyle, and again in the recap at the start of episode 7 that they have missed -how- to use the clue items. I therefore postulate[1] that the Gargoyle would've told Leo to do something like sprinkle the stardust on the shield and hold it up in order to reveal the correct path - or maybe sprinkle it on each path (instead of on the flat bit before the paths) in order to illuminate the way, leaving the shield to be used in a final confrontation.
The wording Treguard uses in his recaps at the start of episodes 6 and 7 are the key to this - he very strongly indicates that Leo had all the items he needed, just lacked the knowledge of how to use them together. Shame.

Onto the episode itself, and the only thing that really sticks in my mind is what an absurdly easy ride Simon's team had through the dungeon. For all the people who've complained that Knightmare was too harsh on occasions, here's proof that the production team are just as capable of going too far the other way!
Throughout the site, reference is made to "Ariadne's Layer". This should be "lair".

I'm not sure what the cameraman was on in the shot from behind the advisors just after the dungeoneer enters the interior section of the lair; it goes down, then up, and then gradually steps downwards for no apparent reason. Maybe it was on a loose stand or something

nods I agree - much like the one that tracked Cliff in series 3. A nice strong team to start the series, though, even if they were quite lucky in the block & tackle.

Am not sure if I've ever heard of them 'dying' in that room, to be honest, and why would they be alllowed to carry on if they were going to be 'forced' to die anyhow? Seems a bit pointless in keeping the quest going if they did die in the serpents chamber.
Well, that information comes from the team themselves, and has been somewhat corroborated by TC afaik. They were allowed to continue because Cliff and co hadn't yet arrived at the studio. I don't think they were forced to die, I think they genuinely did stuff up their manoeuvring again.
